Berit Brown is the events and marketing manager for InTown Concord.

Berit Brown has lived in the Concord area on and off since 2020. Now residing in Warner, she works as the events and marketing manager for local nonprofit Intown Concord, which hosts free community events throughout the year, including First Fridays, Market Days, Midnight Merriment and more. Brown relishes any chance she gets to meet new people and try new activities, especially ones that bring the community together.

“I’m biased, but I’ve been loving how many community events have been happening in the Concord area! It’s so fun to see new and old faces at First Fridays, or Co-op events, or the pop-up classes at Penumbra. I feel lucky to live in a community with so many things to do,” she said.

Learn about some of Brown’s favorite spots and activities as she continues to immerse herself in the Capital Region.

What’s your favorite new local discovery?

Itโ€™s not necessarily new now, but I love the โ€œnewโ€ William & Sons Coffee Co. on Washington St. Their dirty chai latte is to die for, and they have a great variety of pastries. Plus, parking is super easy!

Favorite place to go to spend time in/around Concord?

I honestly love a good cemetery walk in Old North Cemetery. I like to read all of the older names and think about what life in this area was like for them. Itโ€™s a great place to wander around and think.

Beyond your office, where do you go in the area when you need to get work done and focus and why?

I love the top floor of Totally Tea + Coffee for focused work. There are fewer distractions and people moving around up there, and itโ€™s a great place to look out over Main Street.

As Teatotaller owner Emmett Soldati was looking to sell locations in downtown Concord and Dover, he changed the name to Totally Tea + Coffee.

Favorite place to hang out with friends?

I love going to Feathered Friend Brewing Co. for trivia night. Itโ€™s really laid back trivia, so thereโ€™s plenty of time to catch up with friends, drink a nice sour beer, and make your best guess!

Favorite weekend destination in the area?

I recently visited the lavender fields at Pumpkin Blossom Farm for their U-Pick, and it was so much fun! Itโ€™s a great place for a casual afternoon, and they serve ice cream, which is an immediate win in my book.

During the height of the lavender growing season, visitors can roam the fields and pick their own bundles.

Whatโ€™s a local restaurant or food place or dish you havenโ€™t been able to get out of your mind?

I think itโ€™s an equal tie between my obsession with the cardamom buns at Table and the japchae at Sueโ€™s Kimbap. You know itโ€™s an obsession when you find excuses to bring new people there as an excuse to eat it again.

Any go-to stores for clothes or other fun things? What draws you to this place?

I love vintage clothes, and Lilise Designer Retail is my go-to spot. They recently launched booths in the basement with sellers from around the area. I love that you can find both vintage Chanel and a new $5 skirt in the same place!

What’s a cool nature spot you enjoy in the area?

I love a good hike up Mt. Kearsarge! I like that you can either opt for the shorter path on the Warner side, especially if there are kids with you, or go up the Sutton side if you want a longer hike! You get a great view of the area, and itโ€™s a perfect little dose of nature!
