Genealogy Workshop: Researching Your French-Canadian Ancestors, offered in conjunction with the New England Historic

Genealogical Society

People researching their French-Canadian ancestors will be happy to find a wealth of resources and records available in both Canada and the United States. French-Canadian genealogy, however, is not without its quirks. Shifting boundaries, “dit” names, and the language barrier are just some of the challenges researchers may face. Join genealogy expert Rhonda R. McClure from the New England Historic Genealogical Society to learn how to locate and use essential resources, analyze records, and utilize search techniques to discover your family’s past. This workshop will focus on resources pertaining to the province of Quebec. Space is limited, and registration is required. The cost for this workshop is $35 for members of the New Hampshire Historical Society or the New England Historic Genealogical Society and $50 for nonmembers. To register, mail the genealogy workshop registration form with payment, or call Member and Visitor Services Coordinator Wendy Olcott at 603-856-0621 to register by phone and pay with a credit card.
