Bach's Lunch Lecture

All About That Bass

Free and open to the public. Bring your lunch! Jazz started in the streets of New Orleans with sousaphones blowing brass band bass. When the party moved indoors, the string bass took over, propelling the harmony with walking lines. In their January 8 lecture, saxophonist Matt Langley and bassist Don Williams will search for “beauty tracks” while exploring jazz stylistic evolution from the bottom of the staff. Concord Community Music School’s Bach’s Lunch Series offers free, informal lunch-hour lectures on the first Thursday of every month and a related concert on the second Thursday, November through June. Sponsored by: The Timothy and Abigail B. Walker Lecture Fund and The Couch Trusts; TD Wealth Management, NA; Trustee.
