TELEVISION: THE ART & ETHICS OF MANIPULATION
Friday, September 22, 2017 Doors open at 6:30 p.m. Program begins at 7:00 p.m. The New Hampshire Telephone Museum; Cloues Meeting Room 1 Depot Street, Warner NH John Gfroerer explores the power of television as a communication medium and examines the artistic techniques used to persuade, induce, and entice us. Gfroerer considers the extent to which television teaches or simply tantalizes us. Are ethical boundaries crossed by the use of these techniques, and to what extent as media consumers should we care? This program is made possible by a grant from New Hampshire Humanities.
