Speaker on Historic NH Weathervanes

Weare Historical Society has received a Humanities to Go mini-grant to support a speaker on the topic of New Hampshire on High: Historic and Unusual Weathervanes. The speaker is Glenn Knoblock, an author of fifteen books and over 100 articles dealing with NH history. Mr. Knoblock will offer an engaging look into the unusual weathervanes found on NH churches, town halls and other public buildings. Mr. Knoblock will use a combination of visual presentation as well as bring a sampling of some weathervanes found throughout the state. He will discuss the history of weathervanes, their practical use, their symbolism, and the types and methods of manufacturing of the vanes. Please feel free to invite anyone you think might be interested in this presentation. The presentation will take place at the Weare Town Hall on Rt. 114l on Friday, May 5, 2017 at 7:00 pm. Refreshments will be served. There is no charge to attend.
