Chilled Dueling Melon Soup

Chilled Dueling Melon SoupServes 4–6

Ingredients:

  • 2 cups each coarsely chopped ripe honeydew melon
  • 2 cups each coarsely chopped ripe cantaloupe melon
  • 2-1/2 cups fresh orange juice
  • 1/2 cup fresh lime juice
  • 1/4 cup honey
  • 1/4 bottle white wine (champagne, Riesling, gewürztraminer)
  • 2 cups small diced melon reserved for garnish

Note: You are making two soups; keep each separate!


Place coarsely chopped honeydew in blender with ½ of each of the remaining ingredients (orange juice, lime juice, and honey) and puree until smooth. Pour into large bowl. Stir in wine and reserved melon. Cover and refrigerate until ready to serve.

Place coarsely chopped cantaloupe in blender with ½ of each of the remaining ingredients (orange juice, lime juice, and honey) and puree until smooth. Pour into large bowl. Stir in wine and reserved melon. Cover and refrigerate until ready to serve.

To serve, pour both soups slowly into a soup bowl at the same time, this will allow them to stay separate.

Enjoy with the remainder of the wine you used in the soup!
